Internal Medicine Consult Form
This service is for veterinarians only. Clients seeking medical information should contact their regular veterinarian for assistance.
We value our partnerships with our referring veterinarian community and are committed to supporting you in the care of your patients. Our Internal Medicine Service can provide consultations for patients that:
- Have been seen previously by the NCSU Internal Medicine Service, so we can assist with ongoing co-management
- Have a new appointment scheduled with us, so we can help you manage the patient until their visit
To ensure we can meet our teaching responsibilities and provide the highest level of care to our active patients, we are no longer able to offer consultations for patients who have not been seen previously by the NCSU Internal Medicine Service and/or do not have an appointment scheduled. For these cases, several third-party veterinary consultation services are available to meet your needs.
Consultation services remain available for cats with hyperthyroidism and for nephrology/urology patients. Please see the separate forms for these specific types of consultations on the main Request a Consultation webpage.
For emergent consultations, please contact our Emergency Service at 919-513-6911 to speak directly with an emergency clinician.
