What to Expect

We are different from other veterinary hospitals in that we are teaching driven and university-affiliated. We are proud to combine the most advanced, academic-level medical practice with a service-oriented and efficient practice model.

What’s more, as a client at the VH, you can feel good about the fact that all net revenue goes to support education and discovery at one of the nation’s leading colleges of veterinary medicine. We help not only the pets we treat here, but pets everywhere who benefit from the medical innovation and veterinary education that NC State University provides.

The NC State Veterinary Hospital views veterinary care as a partnership between you (the client), the primary care veterinarian and our medical team. We will do our best to provide a range of diagnostic and management plans and abide by the approach selected by the client, while also considering what we feel is best for the patient. Your pet will receive safe, high-quality veterinary care regardless of client age, color, disability, gender, gender identity or expression, national origin, race, religion or sexual orientation.

The NC State College of Veterinary Medicine, which includes the Veterinary Health and Wellness Center, the Terry Companion Animal Center, the Equine and Farm Animal Veterinary Center, and the Reedy Creek Equine Farm, promotes a values-driven culture of mutual respect and valuing the quality of our relationships and collaborations that are supported by prioritizing our community, practicing inclusivity, promoting innovation and pursuing our passion.
